Dice is wanting 60 FPS, epic 64 player battles in Battlefield 4 on the next gen consoles
Patrick Bach, the executive producer for Battlefield, spoke with Eurogamer and said, “We have a very complicated game with a lot of moving parts. We had
to decide, yes, we will do this in 60FPS. Everything else is secondary."
“We know the game is great when you have 64 players and destruction, and if we could get what we had on PC for a long time in your living room with a pad, wouldn’t that be amazing? That’s what we’re aiming for.”
For a long time console gamers playing Battlefield 3 did not have the same luxury experience PC gamers had on Battlefield 3, but it seems like DICE is looking to change that with the new next generation hardware that allows them to do so.

We currently do not know if it is actually the real deal, but it looks pretty damn real. PS4 is foremost a gaming console, and a multimedia device second
Today at the D11, CEO of Sony, Kaz Hirai stated the the PlayStation 4 was meant to be a gaming console first and a multimedia device second. He also states that the PlayStation 4 is meant to appeal to gamers and if they miss that part then they are missing one of their most crucial roles.
"The most important thing we need to make sure we do at least initially is that we all agree and understand that the PS4 is a great video game console that appeals to video gamers. If we miss that part then I don't think we get the initial establishment of the console," said Hirai. "We take a look at this first and foremost as a game console."
Are you happy to hear that Sony is primarily drawing PlayStation towards gaming and not multimedia?

"We scrapped everything at the beginning of Uncharted 1, and we had a perfectly good engine with the Jak & Daxter franchise," "We could have started with something there and then built off of it and only changed the pieces and parts as we needed, when we needed. And that really caused a lot of turmoil."
Coming out of the engine in Jak and Dexter Naughty Dog wanted to a create a new engine for the next generation of games. When the PS3 was first released Naughty Dog created a new engine specifically for the Uncharted series, it proved difficult because they didn't know much off of this new hardware. Now Naughty Dog is carrying over it's existing current engine to the next gen.

EA Sports Ignite trailer was not gameplay, but "pre-rendered" video
The EA Sports Ignite trailer, which some of us thought shown the engine's capabilities is sadly mistaken. When asked by Polygon, Andrew Wilson, the executive vice President of EA Sports, if gameplay was shown in the trailer, he responded no.
"It was all pre-rendered. Listen, we're not hiding behind that fact. This was an event that we've been planning for a number of months on a new platform. And what we wanted to do was use real game assets, so they're all real game assets, straight out of our game teams, but we had to get it into a format that would be usable in this style of event. "What I'm really happy to say, though, is that our games right now are delivering on that, and in some cases more," Wilson said, "and we're going to show a lot more of that at E3 in a couple of weeks. And then by the time we get to launch, the sky's the limit of where we get to." He added the four sports titles are "following where our games are going and certainly in line with what we're seeing in our games right now on console."
